Mal: Gotta say, doctor, your talent for alienatin' folk is near miraculous. Simon: Yes, I'm very proud.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I wish you could all see our conversations we're having right now. They're quite humorous.

Yes, they consist mostly of me cringing and looking guilty.

vw and emily, I hope you can find yourselves some sort of party!

You are a Fun!Wuss. There, I said it. What? Did you think fun was easy?

Did anyone else watch America's Next Top Model?

(Yeah, I said it. I know. I can't stop.)

Nora, we're seeking some clarification. The Phoenix has Phoenix Landing (that Irish place on Mass Ave) under "Live shows". But you think it's a DJ?

Why the fuck is my typing taking five minutes to reach the screen?

I had a pattie and coco bread and ginger beer for dinner. Mmm. Almost made up for the fact that I'd just ruined my new pedicure. Sigh.

Erin, sounds to me like he liked you!! Definitely try for a booty call some night.

I just realized that I'll be 40 before we get back to the States, which means that I won't get to play paintball again [...] until I'm 40.

Heh. I read this at first as you wouldn't get to play paintball ever again, and I'm like "they have an age limit??"

I've been dumped by my cat

That's harsh. But probably not as harsh as being dumped by your dog, eh?

I get to travel, see and do cool things, and sometimes get surprise activities, like fencing in Malaysia

Dude. That's SO cool!! And now, even if you don't get to do cool things like that, you get to have a BABY! That's cool too!

Me, I don't want the responsibility of a husband OR a pet right now. Hell, half my plants have died in the past year

I travel so much that right now I have no SO, no pets, and no plants either. Less guilt that way. Though it makes the thought of a fuckbuddy sound real convenient...

try finding out after 19 years that your husband has a kid you didn't know about

Yeah, now that's something else.

but they also weren't very willing to shell out the Moving Allowance up front, which is a pisser

Aww, that's lame.

ome would never go for guys who can't dance/cross dress/listen to country-western music

OK, who only accepts the boys who cross-dress?

I never met someone I'd call "intolerant" either, when it comes to books, but at least three of my meatspace friends are just not readers

Yeah, I never would've believed it would happen, but one of my best friends IRL is not a reader. I mean, she has some books, and she reads some non-fiction (and she'd protest "but I read all the Harry Potters!"), but...she's got like, one bookshelf. And it mostly has school books on it. And yet, best friend. Who knew??

I don't even want the perfect job. I just need a job.

Polter-Cow, I'd advise temping for awhile--some of the temp agencies have contacts within various kinds of scientific/pharma places, and it's SO much easier to get a job when they already know and like you because you've been temping there!

Maybe I've just never heard it without the implied superiority tone

Well, one of my friends doesn't have a TV, but I got her hooked on America's Next Top Model. No superiority there. :)

Did anyone else watch America's Next Top Model?

See? (Shh, I'm watching it RIGHT NOW)

How about The Living Room. That looks fun and swank. Martinis!

Julien? Hotel bars are fun, and they have dessert souffles.

Futuristic Bowling at Kings

Ooh, the B-Side Lounge looks fun

Meara, I will tell nothing!!!

But I think I had some sort of wakeup call when I realized that, as intently as my friends and I watch Lost, the real rowdiness starts when we turn the Tivo on right after it ends and watch Top Model.

Hangs head.

I'm supposed to limit you to Cambridge. There is no public transportation after midnight or so.
