Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The implied superiority that bugs me is the "Well, I don't obsess over TV like
you
do." Dude, if you know what the name/slogan of JJ Abram's production company is, and you consider for a second taking David Fury aside to give him pointers for Day 5 of 24 and you're not industry? You've WAY lost the "moral" high ground.
But I've heard people not care for TV in the same way some don't care for sport. It's no big thing.
Now, people
with
TV and without cable -- that's just weird.
Big ass clap of thunder just shook my house.
The lights keep flickering here at the Evil Empire. The walk to the bus stop is going to be ooky, isn't it?

Might not. The storm has passed now, and the orb is outside, shining.

Sun just came out here. But we're leaving to catch the bus for the ball game in 30-45 minutes.
t ponders the problem of how to keep Annabel dry in a downpour while carrying her in the sling

When one works for an Evil Empire, weather is probably not the first thing that should go through your mind when the lights start getting freaky. The first wave of attack by rebel forces, now . . .
That might just be my Star Wars geekery showing. 6.5 hours to showtime. I've seen every one of them first run on the big screen.
I wonder where my lightsaber is?
None of my friends will go to a midnight show with me. So's I've got to go tommorrow and miss the OC.
I want to obsess over the TV, but they keep taking away the stuff I over which I like to obsess. Right now, I have show. One. That's not out of superiority. It's an act of kindness. I am the kiss of death for a good show. I've known it for some time, now.
What cracks me up are the people who are horrified that I don't have cable.
But...but...there's nothing on broadcast TV, so you need more channels which also have nothing on them. And you need to pay for that luxury. It's the American way. Commie.
there's nothing on broadcast TV
LOST, Alias, soon to be The Inside, Gilmore Girls, Joan of Arcadia, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and yes, even Charmed.
I've got enough to watch without having cable. If I had cable, I would never leave my house.
But...but...there's nothing on broadcast TV, so you need more channels which also have nothing on them.
Yeah. "FOUR channels and still there's nothing on!!" Just doesn't have the same ring to it.
LOST, Alias, soon to be The Inside, Gilmore Girls, Joan of Arcadia, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and yes, even Charmed.
a) I was joking, hence the commie comment
2) Joan of Arcadia got canned. Hence me being bitter about the TV.
iii) Lost lost my interest. I was out a lot on Wednesdays, and missed too much. Chris deleted some episodes from the TiVo. We were never in the mood to watch what was there, and just gave up. Maybe we'll try it again, next season.
four) The Inside isn't on yet.
e) I miss Joan already.
