Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I stayed home from work to clean today. I've been working fairly energetically for hours, with brief b.org breaks. But to my jaded eyes, it looks like a) nothing has been done, and b) there is no freaking way I can be anywhere close to done before I have to go pick up my dad at that airport. I blame the cats. Their fur makes it dirtier. Their play makes it messier. Their sitting on my lap makes me not want to clean. This is my story, and I'm sticking with it. After all, who are they going to tell otherwise? My dad doesn't speak cat.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Pardon me, but that's *my* line....

The Lutherans in my sink had better start paying rent, damn it.

My bank, like your bank, covers with a fee. So at least it's not a credit hit, but still--ouch.

On the positive side, I'm listening to Christine Lavin. I haven't listened to her for quite a while, and every time I find one of her CDs again, I get a little smile.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

don't quite jibe.

In my plan we are jibeless.

Or, rather, I would have less issue with a replica since it's the danger value of the item, rather than its symbolic value that would twig me.

We didn't have a gun in the house for the simple reason that my Dad felt like there was a strong likelihood that he'd lose his temper and kill somebody dead. I'm glad he understood his own limits and acted accordingly. But my Dad was career military and adept on the shooting range (ranking sharpshooter at least once).

Trust my rage

So, how's it with you? Studying still on track?

Going pretty well - I'm still on my "schedule" and so far the material seems familiar and manageable.

I am always so worried about hanging up when I try to switch to speaker. I hope you get some resolution soon.

Thanks. It's after 5, so I'm trying again. I am back on hold with them again. I have hope.

They're cute when they're naive like that, aren't they?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Hec, if you're still around, insent.

OMG! That's what I can do for extra income! I can turn my slovenly ways into cold hard cash!

My bank, like your bank, covers with a fee. So at least it's not a credit hit, but still--ouch.

Well, and overdrawing more than you thought you were is also scary, at least for me, b/c it's like, then I realize that I don't even have *that* as a safety net. Or at least, not as much of it as I had thought, because my overdraft protection does have a "credit limit" on it.

Bah. I don't like this whole exchanging money for goods and services thing.

I'm with you. We should all give each other stuff instead. I'm sure it would work out in the end.

Thrive to spite them

Greetings!

I don't see Susan wanting a muzzle loading musket thing as being the same as having a hunting rifle or hadngun in the house. They are both guns and Annabel should be taught never to touch one, but it seems that accidental discharge with what she wants would be difficult. Especially if she didn't keep the black powder in the house.
