Shh! I kinda wanna hear me talking right now!

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Also, a guy asked me out, and it's been way too long since that's happened, and this is a guy I actually like, and I had to say no. Feh.

Now I go BBQ, drink, lay on the beach, eat at fancy restaurants, sip cocktails by the firepit, and be TOTALLY LAZY for 3 whole days!

Sounds like fun.

If I only had a brain...

Yeah, I checked the rules and I am definitely not Goth enough. Basically, it's like somebody offering cheap corsets to Bitches, except that said person would be soooooo overwhelmed.

I'm sorry, Betsy. If it makes you feel any better, there are some people in that community that I don't think are Goth enough to be there, but I was outvoted.

What is even happening?

Also, a guy asked me out, and it's been way too long since that's happened, and this is a guy I actually like, and I had to say no. Feh.

Oh, no. Can you turn that "no" into, "I'd really like to after..." [ whatever it was that got in the way--health, school, etc.]?

Yeah, I did. But I really don't think I'll be able to do anything this week, and then for the next two and a half weeks, one or the other of us is going to be out of town pretty much every day. So this turned into a "I'd love to...um, maybe in June?"

Mostly lurking...

Oh, Hil! I'm so sorry you're still so sick and having to deal with this end-of-the-semester stuff at the same time. How tough!

And I'm sorry about the off timing with the guy. Hopefully you'll be able to connect later.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Arse. Stupid date-jinxing universe!

It's fine, Jilli; I can't honestly describe myself as a Goth, just an admirer.

He can arch one eyebrow!

Wow, at his tender age? That's DAMN impressive! (I'm quite glad I can raise either one, it makes me happy)

I feel like I haven't gotten enough sleep in *months*

I hear you. Last night I went to bed at about 11PM...and at 7:45AM, my alarm went off, and it took 15 minutes for me to even recognize what the hell the sound meant.

Finding out that the reason your train was running sooper late was because a detonator was found in one of the train stations.

Eek. That's not good.

within a more volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) strategic environment

VUCA! VUCA! VUCA!

The baby is gorgeous, but I did not realize you are also gorgeous.

Raquel is supergorgeous, it's quite true. Sniff. Sadly, she is no longer a DCista. BOO!

Chocolate Huffpuffs are actually just rice crispie cakes

Sounds good--but no marshmallows in your choco-crispie things?

Apparently we will get time-and-a-half after all.

Oh YAY! That's awesome. Here's to racking up the money?

Her clothing company is trying to clear out some of their fabric stash, so they're offering custom-fitted underbust corsets for $50.

DUUUUDE! Where??? (Hmm. Gother-than-thou? Or, than...anyone? I think not)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Behold Raquel from last year's F2F: [link]

If she chose to embrace a life of crime, she could easily put people into thrall with those amazing eyes. Sooooo pretty!
