And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Are you a self-starter? If so, give me an example.

This is why I hate interviewing for office jobs. Apparently "no" is not an acceptable answer.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Those sound like pretty standard questions. Why do you think it didn't go well? I know you said it was short. Did you not feel like you answered the questions fully? Maybe it was short because they knew they had their girl.

I would guess that someone interviewing 5 people doesn't have someone pre-selected, so I don't necessarily think short means that it wasn't a real interview. That may just be all she thinks she needs to know. Did she give you enough time to ask all the questions you wanted to ask?

Mostly just 'cause it was short. I think I answered the questions fully. Oh, she also asked what my former positions would bring to this one. I think I answered that one really well. I felt like I talked a lot about school, but that was partially brought on by her, so...Plus, I think it would be to their benefit to have a student...someone who has several years left in school and wouldn't be looking for anything else for that period of time.

She did seem to just be kind of quick in her explanations and stuff. Maybe that's a typical interview for her. I'm just used to interviewing for an hour and seeing more people, I guess.

whee! Raquel is back!

t sits and waits for baby updates

She could just be a crappy interviewer, vw, or wicked busy. That was me, when I would interview people.

Yeah...the more I think about it, the more I think it went ok. It was just short. That can't be all bad. I smiled a lot, laughed a bit and was relaxed. If I don't get it, well, then it wasn't meant to be.

I just sent off the thank you note. Hopefully that will put me back in her mind and help her remember the good parts.

Our wings are not tired.

Hi Raquel!! Yay for access to the internets.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, Raquel! Glad you're back!

vw, the interview sounds like it went great. I wouldn't worry about it.

Heather, your boss sounds like a complete toad. (Okay, I know you said that his isn't always a toad, but he was about that.)

I ordered these shoes from Zappos.com yesterday. They were delivered this morning. How cool is that? And, they are so comfy.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

You should print out the email for him and hand it over pointedly.

Word.

I think you should give him the damned thing and ask whether he'd like you to reply, and if so, how. I'd be tempted to have a full job spec detailing all the damned things you do to hand, along with details of what the going rate would be for someone with your skills base. Just in case he wants you to send it to this oh-so-professional individual.

If that doesn't embarrass him, God knows what will.

Those shoes are fabulous, ChiKat!

Just in case anyone was wondering, these are the shoes I wore today: [link] They are quite fabulous, no matter what my feet are telling me right now.
