Spike ,'Selfless'
Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
t makes out with cassiepants and seany
Tonight one of the new kings got up in a Utilikilt and did Loudon Wainwright's "I Wish I Was a Lesbian"!! I plotzed.
I went kite flying
Yay, connie and hubby! The more kitefliers, the better. What kind of kite?
This is not exactly new territory here. But today at work I had a moment - no, more like several minutes - in which I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that as a Buffista I was helpless to preserve my dignity.
Working at a group home, we are expected to participate in the clients' recreational activities. During significant portions of the weekends, staff find themselves with the tv to themselvs, as the clients choose to sleep in or nap. Napping, alas, is not one of the activies we can participate in. Sunday morning.... whole lotta nuthin on tv. Coworker's got the remote, and he's looking at the preview channel. I have a book to entertain me, knowing his penchant for 1. baseball, and B. car racing. Wayne says, "there are a couple of choices, but I think some of them might aggravate or irritate you." Figuring nothing but professional wrestling could be more irritating than NASCAR, I nodded and said, "Go ahead."
Suddenly I find myself giggling like a gaggle of hyennas, and hiding my head in the sofa to keep from waking the neighborhood. I don't remember anymore what Piglet said that was sooooo gay; but I can state definitively that I lack the maturity to be in the same room with Pooh talking about looking for a honeypot, and maintain any dignity whatsoever.
Needless to say, Wayne wordlessly switched over to Motocross racing forthwith.
ETA: Damn, he did that on purpose, didn't he?
Fay stick to your guns both ways. The same teaching that gets you accused of "Pro-Israel" propaganda in Egypt could get you accused of "anti-semitism" (or in my case being a "self-hating Jew") in the U.S.
I won't get further into the argument - just mention that what Cindy said was not so cut and dried is itself not so cut and dried;some of those points expounded historical views well to right of the position Begin has publicly taken on those historical issues. But we tend to get a very one-sideed view of the whole situation here in the United States.
Cindy, if you want another view read Noam Chomsky's Iron triangle or some of the work of the late Edward Said. Yes, I know beyond the pale, appalling horrible people is the standard view in the U.S. But Chomksy is, and Said was a brilliant scholar. They document every thing they say, and make humane and logical arguments.
[ouring rain. driving home from berkeley in the rain. It so shouldn't be happening in may
I hear we are going to get rain and thunderstorms tomorrow too, Beth.
Ugh.
rain is wrong. now, we did go see john renborn with deb and nic. - and there was the singing of 'Cruel sister" by those people on the stage- after Deb talkjed to them and gave them "famous flower" so that part was extra fun. but we were having winter rain - raining so hard you can't see road. and it is makeing the cranky key up again.
The doctor has me on the highest does of advair, plus singular, plus abutreal. - luckily I don't get the shakey hands and pounding heart. but my low level anixiety and crankiness - and reached way high stress and rage levels. I can't tell if it because I am sure of how sick I am , because I am tired of being sick , or because I have so many drugs in my system ( add bc pill, 1 for diabetes , and 1 for cholesteral). I'm takeing all opinions on this debate.
Timelies!
It's the last week of classes. Yay! Just two more days to get through...
