Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Dorky sounding? Possibly. Also very tasty sounding.

Well, it's Mexican toppings on wheat bread. Maybe more weird than dorky.

I'm bored too, but I should be writing. I've decided I write more when I'm busy--end of April, I was judging contest entries and doing grant writing for the main freelance client, and somehow I was writing 20 pages per week and more. Now I have nothing to do but write, and I've spent the entire day playing on the internets.

Get out! I worked at Marriott's Great America.

I went to Marriott's Great America once with my 8th grade class. This was before it moved. In case anyone cares.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

So The Good Date and I haven't really discussed the idea of exclusivity in any specific terms; we'd both talked in general about what we were looking for in a relationship, and we're clearly all besotted, but there haven't been any parameters established.

I just logged in to OKCupid so I could reply to a few unanswered messages with a general "hey, thanks for being in touch, I should probably be up front and let you know that I might be unavailable for dating but hey I'm always up for meeting new friends" message. While I was logged in I looked again at The Good Date's profile.

His relationship status is now listed as "seeing someone" and his profile limits his interests to friends, activity partners, and penpals.

SQUEE!

Doomed Jen is awfully cute.

Also, Hi, Jen! How's that last week of classes treating you?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

In my first real job, I worked at an amusement park. Nightmare on a stick.

I'm right there with you. (I worked at Six Flags Great America.)

Opryland.

Erin, that sucks.

vw, she knows that you care about her and I really doubt that she cares about your housekeeping, unless there's something alive in the dirty dishes.

Jen is even more doooooomed.

vw-- there is no way you could be a bad friend. At all. It's not in your make up.

Jen -- that's so exciting!

And Erin that completely sucks, I'm sorry.

Hi vee-dub! This is actually my next-to-last week of classes; I've got class scheduled next Monday and Wednesday.

All the same, the course evaluations are in full swing, and they are glorious. I get to talk about the horrific head nurse on my unit at my psychiatric rotation and sing the praises of my amazing maternity clinical instructor. I love being able to do that.

The downside, of course, is that the closer classes are to ending, the closer finals become.

How's your stuff going? Do you have exams or final papers/projects?

Oh, yeah. That's kind of what I meant...I'm counting down. In my head there's a full week left.

Filled out my first course evaluation today. That one wasn't bad. I'm dreading one of them. I like the prof as a person, but...

The downside, of course, is that the closer classes are to ending, the closer finals become.

Exactly! How many do you have?

How's your stuff going? Do you have exams or final papers/projects?

It's going well. I got my grade back for my last incomplete (there were four) yesterday, and it was an A. I was thrilled (still am)! Finished off a paper today and have another big one due on Monday. Then everything is done till finals week, which will contain a final, a paper and my creative writing portfolio. And the best part? They're all due the same day. Go May 17th!

Thrive to spite them

I have an update on my car situation.

Today Dad and I went to the bank to figure out how I could get money. He cosigned on a credit card for me, the credit union will try and get the money I need. The manager loan person couldn't approve it right away, but he's going to call me tomorrow and let me know. If I do get approved then I probably won't get the card until next week and my car is going to be ready on Friday. I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it.

As for the woman I hit -- I got an official estimate, but the guy needs me to come in, sign the paper work, and give him half down. Except I can't afford half down so I talked him down a couple hundred dollars. Tomorrow I get paid (thank god for direct deposit) and I'll either pay the down payment all in cash or put half in cash and half on the credit card I got a week or so ago (if he'll let me).

Then, if I get the full amount I need on the credit card I'll see if they'll transfer however much that is to the card with the larger limit, leaving me with one credit card payment.

Of course knowing me that won't happen.

BUT! My aunt got the double wide and it looks like I'll be moving in mid June!
