[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Aww, baby and champagne. Adorable.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm so sorry, JZ.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

never tell her, Deena

I was talking with a woman at the library yesterday who had fibromyalgia( that is a major guess on spelling - I should look it up) She lost about 6o lbs - - just as an FYI - it didn't help.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think this one is just priceless:

It's a young Orson Welles.

I have a friend who made the mistake of having his three-year-old in the room when he added childproof cabinet latches. The three-year-old, having seen how they went on, promptly got a screwdriver and took them off again.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Beth (I think you spelled it right), one of Aidan's therapists was recently diagnosed. She is Callista Flockheart skinny. It doesn't seem to have a lot to do with weight, though I do think I'd feel better if I were skinnier.

I am guessing weight loss is good - because too much weight put more stress o your body - but it was interesting to hear it from someone that has real experience. I am guessing it probabbly helps for some - but loseing weight is rarely the universal solution the world seems to think it is.

I was recently reading a book where the heroine had to cross a frozen tundra between settlements and the intense cold melted away her body fat, she ended up losing two fingers and being very ill for a long time. My first thought was, "damn, I need a frozen tundra."

I mistakenly tried to hand Kara her hot chocolate to take to the table instead of carrying it myself. I didn't intend to have her carry it at all and caught myself, but as I was realizing what I'd done she said, "I'm not a mommy! I don't carry hot things! but you stuck my HOT cocoa IN MY FACE!"

JZ, I'm so sorry for your loss. Mortality does suck, severely.

Yesterday she taught herself how to remove them. Her daddy can't even remove them

See -- that sort of MacGyver cleverness is why I feared for the fate of your digital camera! She could have turned it into a mind-control device!

What is even happening?

Since she is such a busy girl, early on we installed the doorknob covers so she couldn't get into certain rooms our out the front door.
Yesterday she taught herself how to remove them. Her daddy can't even remove them (or put them back). It's been interesting, though she hasn't yet escaped out the front door.
Hook and Eye locks
at the top of each door
Slide bolts, and deadbolts
and chain locks galore
OCD-like lockdowns
for peace that they bring
These are a few of my childproofing things

When the door ope's
When the child flees
When he's being bad
I simply remember my lock-down routine
And then I don't feel so MUCH LIKE HE COULD DISAPPEAR AT ANY GIVEN SECOND.

Hmm. I don't think that scans too well. Must work on it.

You were absolutely right to be afraid, Steph. She could have done anything and we wouldn't have known until it was too late.

The front door has a chain lock that she can't reach, so that's our backup there, and the back door has a very stiff deadbolt just above her head. I think we're safe...about keeping them in...with us. Oh dear.
