Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
My niece back in Pennsylvania is getting married next month. She was born the year I graduated college (1983), and I'm impressed she's waited to a decent age to get married. I got the invitation yesterday, though I'm sure it's more in thought of an announcement. Or maybe not, this is the first communication from that portion of the family in ages, so they may not even be thinking in terms of "can she attend?" It's in nature of a "See the wonderful gift-giving occasion!" notice, but I don't mind. I can afford a relatively decent present, and it shows I, at least, can behave properly. Etiquette battles en famille are the best kind.
The RSVPs are going to my older sister. Her announcement provider should be shot, though, because the return envelopes are smaller than the minimum size the post office will handle without extra postage, and she only put 32-cent stamps on the envelopes. I don't know when mine was sent, but the wedding's in a month, and there are going to be huge problems with the RSVPs getting returned for insufficient postage and attendent hassles. Part of me is going "Oh, poor niece, she doesn't need this grief". Part of me is going "I'm evilly amused and grateful I'm well out of it."
I'm going to send my RSVP back in a nice card with a note explaining the size problem and how I didn't want to cause grief. Yep, the black sheep sister knows what she's doing.
I totally forgot that the glass guy was coming to fix my windshield today. Luckily he called to say he was downstairs instead of coming to the door. I had to rush around to find clothes. He's fixing the windshield now. If he can fix the nick without having to replace the windshield I won't have to pay for it. t keeps fingers crossed
And then when we were packing up, a very nice, lovely woman approached me and asked me to sign her book. Then she said, "Actually I'm a lurker who supports you in email." She said she'd been lurking on the boards since back in the TT days, and was in town for the event and decided to swing by. Made my night - thank you, Dee.
That's very cool, Hec. I am glad the reading went well.
Induction~ma to Burrell.
(that tapping you hear is my toe...impatient for the 4pm release of the Serenity trailer.)
Squee!
You were missed, Beverly. I hope only good things have kept you busy.
Aimee's MiL is not just oblivious, she's snitty, and we hates her.
Anne good luck.
Sj, I hope he can fix it.
I'm an hour and 20 minutes late for a deadline I've pushed back twice. I HAVE to get this work done before 3 or my ass will be handed to me on a platter. Argh. It's just not coming together. Frustration seems to be my middle name.
Serenity! yay!
The windshield is fixed! My bank account did not have to suffer for it to be fixed! Of course then I locked myself out of my apartment and had to call my landlord to let me back in.
{{{Deena}}} Work~ma. You can do it.
Miss Emeline and Friends
(BTW-nothing warms the cockels of my heart more than a bunch of Bitches wanting to take out my MiL)
Em is just a TOTAL cutehead!
Yes she is!
Aimee - the pix of MM and Em asleep is toooo cute for words (don't tell him I said that!). The sunglasses picture is damn cute too (meara and Kristin look pretty cute too!)
