[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

She's really just so pretty.

Why, yes. Yes, she is.

awww....poor little Em. And, poor Joe! I think my heart would jump out of my chest if I saw my baby* fall like that.

  • Said "baby" is purely hypothetical. I do not have, nor have I ever had a baby. Nor do I plan on having one soon if ever.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

We often put her in her car seat on the kitchen table if we're cooking, doing dishes, etc. We think the dog might have pulled her down on accident.

I'm going home now and I'm gonna stop and buy cookies. Mmmm, cookies. M'fashnik.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

One kid I used to babysit, when he was learning to walk, was somehow missing the "put out your arms to break a fall" instinct. He'd start falling, and then just fall straight over, keeping his arms at his sides, and hit his head against the floor. Scariest thing ever to watch.

Always Anti-fascist!

I don't always do that either, with the brain damage.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I survived dinner with my family and amazingly so did they.

{{{vw}}} Much ~ma to you. Also, insent.

"...loved the pictures. Emma is so beautiful and petite. How lucky that she got Joe's metabolism and will grow up instead of out. You and I will envy her lots! "

That's awful. The Empress is foamy, and Emma is lucky to have both her and MM's genes.

She had her first head bump Friday. She fell out of her car seat onto the kitchen floor. Joe said it took a good 10 years off his life.

Poor MM and poor Emma.

The good news is that this gets easier and takes less years off your life as you go along.

Coding and Sleeping

I want to secure the bookshelves in the basement tv room with furniture brackets. They need to be bolted to the walls. Can I drill and bolt them to concrete wall? Three of the four walls in this room aren't finished--just painted concrete.

You can get Tapcon screws. You'll need a special drill bit that is sold with the screws. There's a section in Home Depot that has them in the hardware area with the other screws.

Hee. This was the first thing that came up with Google. DH is intrigued by a trip to the home improvement store and the prospect of buying a new drill bit. That wasn't as hard as I'd imagined. And the set of brackets (which will take care of all three bookcases) is only $8 from One Step Ahead.
