Hec, I'm glad Emmett's surgery was so quick and easy. When Nick broke his arm and had to have it pinned, he said he thought his doctor was a 6 foot tall parrot. He likes to tell that story; I hope Emmett enjoys his stories and doesn't remember the not-so-good parts. I hope this can become a story for you, too, someday soon.

It doesn't sound like a big goof to me, Susan, but I am the kind of reader that would have a vague feeling that something about that character was familiar, maybe I went to school with someone with that name? And when I finally figured out where I'd seen it before, I'd be too pleased with my ability to know things to think you'd cribbed it.
