Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Stressful, but not terribly trying, day + one glass of wine + very nice soak in a very hot bath = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This is new math.

Hi Java!

Oh and it is amusing to start your day with a call asking if you can whip up some html files though they contain "tasteful" nudity. It was far more art than nekkid. And not even that risque for art.

Still some naked is better than no naked and designing is more amusing when you are lining things up with a naked ass than some boring corporate picture.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Gud, I'm so sorry. I hope it works out.

Gud, a few times, I've heard friends say things get worse for a while in counseling (of any sort).

I would agree with this. In the early stages, more things are coming to the surface. Whether they get worked through or not, it's painful to confront them.

Fair enough. And I'm sorry to sound discouraging. I'm all scar tissue on these issues, and kind of flinchy.

Yeah, I've noticed this...

It's not coriander.

It is in Australia. As Jess noted.

Am I the only one that thinks cilantro tastes like dish soap?

Nope. It doesn't take much of it to make a meal inedible for me.

makes note to try online dating.

I have that note up somewhere. Not close to doing so, but I signed up to a speed dating service to keep tabs on things and visualise possible futures. Now they send me emails with titles like "William, Girls Sold Out!" I'm not sure if they're making representations about the quantity of the women they have to offer, or the quality.

Apparently this week, the ladies sold out too. If this is true, I'm not sure if they still qualify as ladies.

Signed, Confused About Ladies.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Deena, I dreamt I met your kids and spent a great deal of time goofing around with Aidan. The memory is bringing a smile to my face.

ita, you'd probably be smiling even more if you'd actually met them in person. They are just sweethearts.

I'm starting my Saturday morning off with coffee, I Love Lucy and crocheting. Boy, I'm lazy.

Aidan was such a darling.

Coffee! Coffee and pancakes, that's what I'm going to do. Annoyingly, all the Cooks Illustrated recipes have buttermilk and I do not. So I don't get to experiment with new stuff.

Well, the old wasn't that bad.

Plus, Blue Mountain Coffee (a co-worker asked me yesterday if Jamaica really had Blue Mountains, and if we really grew coffee there. It hadn't occurred to me it might be any other way).

That sounds lovely, ita. I've just got some cheap coffee here. But, it does the trick. Oh, and poptarts. I love my poptarts.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Today our dog graduates from Dog training class. She is such a friendly, people-lover that we are hoping to train her to be a therapy dog so we can take her around to hospitals and nursing homes. First, however, she has to master sitting, staying, and stuff like that. We've had her three months and she knew nothing when we got her from the pound, so it'll be interesting to see how much she's learned.
