nice new thread . Is it nap time?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Is it nap time?
It's always nap time somewhere....
Or maybe nap time is just a state of mind.
Or maybe we carry nap time in our hearts.
Or maybe you've always had nap time. Just click your heels together....
x-posted from my LJ because it rocks so hard...plus, it's a little sunshine in a gloomy month:
I possibly have the best mother ever. There I was, sitting in my classroom a few minutes before my first class was about to start. A few of my teenagers were milling about, and I was sifting through papers on my desk and feeling a bit stressed about the amount of grading I had to plow through later.
Very unexpectedly, in walks my mother with a little canvas bag. "Hey sweetie! I knew you were having a rough week, so I thought I'd bring you breakfast!" In the bag: coffee, a breakfast sandwich, orange juice, a pint of milk, and a little cheerios packet. My kids all said, "Awwwww!" in chorus followed by mumblings of, "I wish I had a mom like that!"
But wait, it gets better.
So I start class and put aside the food to be eaten afterward. About twenty minutes later, there's a knock on the door. It's my mom again, this time with two small shopping bags. "I didn't think it was fair to bring you food and not your students!" she smiles. In the bags? Two boxes of donuts and a half gallon each of apple cider, orange juice, and milk. Also cups for the drinks and napkins for the crumbs. Now my class choruses, "AWWWWWWW!!!" and "THANK YOU MS. T.'s MOM!!!"
We snacked on donuts and drinks, and they made her a thank you card, and my whole day got a hell of a lot brighter.
Any time you wonder where I get my odd impulses to just do something nice and unexpected for someone, think about this story. She is my role model in so many ways, and I love her dearly.
AWWWW!
Cool moms are the coolest.
What a fabulous mom! And what a terrific daughter!
My mom and I went to the discount shoe store yesterday, as I am her Official Fashon Consultant and she only ever buys clothes when we're together. She got a two pairs of much-needed sandals and she bought me the COOLEST black Converse low tops with red and orange flames! (I think Hec has the same shoes) Hooray moms!
She is my role model in so many ways
This was such a nice story to read on a gray Tuesday morning. I said "Awwww!" too.

This is too cute.
I need to go call my mom now. She rocks, too.
Timelies, all.
Speaking of moms, I've been trying to get ahold of mine all morning. I have to work out the final part of our super secret plan, and if I can't get ahold of her, that's gonna be kind of hard to do. Poor thing has her 4th sinus infection since Christmas. She's so sick, and the doctor won't give her any meds, 'cause he wants to do a CT scan. But, they have to jump through hoops with the insurance company in order to get authorization for said CT scan, so it'll probably be a couple of weeks before that happens. I hate to think that she'll be this sick that whole time!
Yay for Kristin and Robin's moms.
Tinelies for everyone.
My mum and dad get here this evening, and will be here for a couple of days before they begin their spring holiday (do retired people get holidays? I was just postulating elsewhere that relaxing in warmer climates is their ::jobs::). It will be really good to see them.
Kristin, You [have] such an awesome mom!
