I'm here!
While I was just in the bathroom, Kara burst in and shouted, "I hear peeing!"
I allowed as how that might be going on.
She wriggled her hips in her new skirt and shouted, "ROCK N ROLL PEE!"
'Shindig'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh, Kara! You silly, silly girl.
"ROCK N ROLL PEE!"
Okay, every time I go to the bathroom for the rest of the day, I'm going to giggle.
Susan, I find Greenlake harder to walk than Seward (though this is the first time I've walked Seward), which may be the press of people part at the former, or the lack of quiet rest spaces, or just the feeling that you have to Really Walk at Greenlake, so you still get a go team from this corner.
Yeah, Greenlake does draw the Serious Exercisers. However, I think pushing a stroller allows you to slow down a little without annoying the joggers and speed walkers.
How's the Amby working for y'all?
Pretty well! We have it next to the bed, and she seems to be sleeping fairly well in it.
Good! I'm still working out whether Annabel is just a naturally good sleeper or we Did Something Right with the combination of Amby, swaddling, and having an air filter that creates soothing white noise right next to the bed. Too bad that Happiest Baby on the Block guy already has a book about this kind of stuff, or I'd write a bestseller on making your baby sleep and get rich a lot quicker than I ever could with romance novels.
Cute Annabel story: When DH comes home from work, he picks her up, and then I hug both of them. Last night for the first time she strrretttched out her arm so she could be hugging both of us.
(xposted with tales of the hilarious Kara)
"ROCK N ROLL PEE!"
That's gonna be in my head for a good long time.
Last night for the first time she strrretttched out her arm so she could be hugging both of us.
Oh, how adorable. How wonderful that must have been.
"ROCK N ROLL PEE!"
I'm TOTALLY going to use this in a song.
ETA If Kara will give my permission of course.
Bwah! "Rock and Roll Pee!" makes my day. Much appriciated.
So, I can't tell anyone IRL, because I'm sworn to secrecy, but my best MTV-watching, bar hopping, gossip loving girlfriend just found out she is pregnant. I can't voice my own selfish freak-outs on her, since she's freaking out plenty on her own, but they are there. She was going to move in with me if the roomie moves to London, so I may end up having to move back in my with parents. And, she was my go-to girl. Now all of my friends will have gotten married, or moved away, or had babies. She was my hold-out. Now, I slack alone.
t /Childish, bratty pity party.
She wriggled her hips in her new skirt and shouted, "ROCK N ROLL PEE!"
I adore this and will think that every time I pee now.
So I'm sitting here, listening to my classical playlist and thinking it was a little slow for first thing in the morning. Immediately following that thought, on comes the Queen of the Night taking the high C to task and making it her bitch. "OK, that was cool," I think, "but--" To be immediately followed by "Great Gates of Kiev," with timpani and trumpets, and if my mind's still cloudy after this it's my fault.
Now, I slack alone.
Yeah, but you're all young and stuff. Come to Boston/Somerville- plenty of slackers here. In my circle of friends, in our 30s, we're finally just starting to pair off and get married/shack up. Not so many friends with kids.
You've still got some quality slacking time left.
But it does suck to slack alone. So come here, and slack with all of us!
