[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Up with the sun

I was wondering, what does it say about Ratzinger's politics or point of view that he chose the name Benedict?

Deena, I was looking up that very thing today. It's after the Pope who was in power during WWI, who was a pacifist and conservative doctrinally. Wikipedia claims that:

Although one of the less remembered Popes of the twentieth century, he deserves commendation for his humane approach in the world of 1914-1918, which starkly contrasts with that of the other great monarchs and leaders of the time. Thus, when Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected pope in 2005, his choice of the title Benedict XVI was intended to convey a promise of humanitarian diplomacy and a firm stance against modernism.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That little guy sure keeps you on your medical toes, Deena.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

humanitarian diplomacy and a firm stance against modernism

I'm curious to see how these two are going to overlap.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

The mom rejects the baby because he/she is albino? That's so sad.

Not to the Empress it isn't.

Yes it is. It is sad. I didn't know the mommy rejected it. I would take care of it.

brillig

I want fudge! Dark, chocolately, no nuts, rich fudge.

Or brownies. Extra rich and dense, no nuts--and no frosting! A brownie so dense you pick it up and "Wow."

I hate to imagine. Letting people (who must have sinned) die of AIDS and book burnings?
