Mostly lurking...

The detective just called me back. I finally feel like I've been able to do something.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Hee! Erika's changed my whole outlook on murder! Sorry I misunderstood.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I took the day off work today. I probably shouldn't have, but DAMN, I am so glad I did. Oh, and for anyone who was worried--all four cats were safe at home when I got back from work yesterday, so no harm done. Phew!

Jen, yay and more yay for your fabulous date! I'm really happy for you. I tried OKCupid myself, but there weren't many people on it from Western Mass, and most of those were college students--not so much my thing. (Generally, I don't like to date anyone younger than me. It's a thing.) Can't remember what all three of my adjectives were, but I know one was "seaworthy".

Also I got another tattoo.

brenda, in the dream or in real life?

Raquel, you've got a beautiful kid there. Good to see you, however briefly!

I'm glad he called, vw. I don't know the specifics of the situation, but I hope he was helpful, and I hope the situation is resolved quickly and easily.

Re: the Pope, I'm confused about how they're named. What is it about Ratzinger (is that really his name? wow) that he gets named Benedict XVI? I mean, why wasn't he John Paul III?

Always Anti-fascist!

So wish for Homicide in it's glory days...the obnoxious NBC promo"The case Frank Pembleton was born to solve...ripped from the headlines. Can God's Detective choose between his duty and his faith?"(Like he does every Friday, but whatever.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Relieved to hear the cats are safely indoors, Kate.

And glad the detective called vw back.

What is even happening?

Re: the Pope, I'm confused about how they're named. What is it about Ratzinger (is that really his name? wow) that he gets named Benedict XVI? I mean, why wasn't he John Paul III?

His name name was Joseph Ratzinger. And then once they're elevated to cardinal, (actually this might happen at bishop, or archibishop, for all I know, but I know it happens at cardinal, too) their names are given like this: Joseph, Cardinal Ratzinger (or Bernard, Cardinal Law). When a pope is poped, his picks a name. So Benedict is his choosing.

I've decided that Banana Republic needs to bring back the t-shirts they sold whne they were first opened in the 80's. The ones with the animals on the backs? They could make baby-tees for women, too.
