'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Hugs Maria for all the disenfranchised and disillusioned Catholics I know.

orthodox paganism

I think there was a website, apparently it involves really bad webpage design.

Always Anti-fascist!

Polter-cow, Nova, or rather Mr. Griswold, sent me that yesterday, Aw, he wants to be a Baby Bayliss...yay him. He'd better get used to being taken for granted a lot though. The picture of the new pope gave me a wiggins. An uninformed wiggins, but still, the man looks scary.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm disappointed. Really and truly. The marginalization of many American Catholics continues.

I'm sorry, Maria. It's not my church, but I'm disappointed that it didn't turn out better for you and your ilk.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

if there's such a thing as orthodox paganism

Modern paganism is like fanfic. The answer is always yes.

I'm sorry too, Maria. But like I said in Natter, the guy's 78. We'll be conclaving again in no time.

And, (apologies to Maria) I'm totally hearing this in a wiseguy accent.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wasn't that part of the plot of Godfather III?

Up with the sun

I think Ratzinger is more a placeholder pope than anything else -- he is 78, so even if his health is good, we'll probably get another new pope in the next decade. Maybe the forces for change within the church decided to wait until they could elect a pope who wouldn't be transitional. Or maybe there just aren't enough forces for change. I can't really say.

In any case, Mal is adorable. He looks so alert and person-like.

What is even happening?

Wasn't that part of the plot of Godfather III?
Yes, and I think it was about JPI.

Maria, I'm sorry, too (and I suspect my apologies need to go out to JZ, as well).
