I had a picnic today with various family members. It was a pretty day and I managed to get my face slightly sunburned. Spent very litlte time with the uncle I don't like (good for everybody).
Found out that my aunt's double wide should be in place this Friday!!! which means she'll spend the rest of this month moving and Grandma will move in the first weeks of May. So I'll be moving the last part of May.
I'm so excited. Cautious in case there are delays, but so excited. Moving. Living on my own.
Probably going to be an x-post with natter, but we just added a new member to the family. In addition to me & Mr.H, cutest-dog-in-the-world Max, stupid-cat Phoebe and slut-cat Sabrina, we now have whiney-needy-new-puppy Oz the miniature dachshund.
He is currently crying himself to sleep in the bathroom. I want so badly to go in there and cuddle him, but bad habits start early so...
yay new puppy!
Today I met an eight week old chiauhah( how do you spell that) nambed anabelle. I wanted to take her home. but even full grown she'd be a third the size of my cat.
Congrats on the newest puppy, Heather.
It sounds- nevermind- I was going to say it sounds like he's asleep, but I just heard crying. He's adoreable, black and tan. We decided on a small dog that will bark like a large one, which left us with a limited number of choices. We researched 4 breeds, and yesterday when the dachshund people said theirs were weaned and we could come pick we set up a time today. He was the only black and tan in the litter and probably the smallest. All the puppies were outgoing and friendly. Not one of them was shy-something we didn't want. It made it very difficult. One of the spotted ones had a heart on his back. We tried calling them to see which one came and they all came running. Just a herd of tumbling puppies. We looked at their teeth and build and everything, hoping something would put one over the top. Mr. H finally said that the way his dad picked his dog was to see which would be the first to lick his face. While the others were all over our hands and shoulders, Oz was the first to give kisses. The breeders have young children, so we felt a little bad knowing they'd miss the puppy, but since I have their address, I think I'll send pictures and a thank you note.
Yay! Sounds like he's asleep! Now up in a few hours to let him go to the bathroom. Joy.
