I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Must say: Very glad it's Friday. AND, that I got an invite to a party tomorrow! Yay, plan for the weekend. :) However, boooooo on the $2300 in taxes I just mailed to the Feds and DC.

we've got "meara", "mejia" and "nilly" as buffistas who's user names also mean something else

Hee. "meara" also means "mirth" in gaelic, or so I'm told.

I don't have allergies, except...I do. Just thought I was sick

I think I may be the same. But I might still be in denial.

a 16-year-old girl learning to parallel park killed her mom when she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake

Oh my god. That's AWFUL. So seriously awful. Wow. Poor poor girl.

the running joke is that some night she'll entice me to their place

Aww, I wanna entice a juliana! And a Kristin, and a Maria, and a...Buffista snuggle harem?

Oh, maybe they're all on crack!

I didn't realize Marion Berry was in Atlanta today

You realize Marion Barry was re-elected to the DC City Council, and may be considering another run for Mayor?

my Latina girls in 3rd hour brought a whole bunch of food -- homemade enchiladas, tamales, arroz con leche

ooooh, super YUM.

Aww. And I'm jealous of people who get to meet Miss Tickyboxy herself.

But now I'm going to go walk to my best friend's house and she will feed me lasagna, she just promised. Later, y'all.

Howdy. Read about a hundred or two messages. Skipped after that. Ma to them what needs it.

I did manage to make it to the Indian Food discussion, which made me laugh on account of having HAD Indian yesterday. (In-laws were sent for take out, because hospital food is of the bad an wrong.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Welcome home, mama.

An additional 200 square feet of house in which to put all her crap?

Nah, we should be good.

Welcome home! How's the wee Lillian?

Sleepy. She ate right before we left, and right when we got home, so we should have a couple of hours before she's up again, giving us time to set things up and unpack.

Susan, every time they brought up how long induction could take, we thought of you. And frequently mentioned your induction! We were all prepared for things to go on for days.

Of course, after the last upping of the pit (which was right around the last time I posted in here before she was born), things started to go hard and fast. From the time active labor started, there wasn't a lull until she was out. Hell, there wasn't really a lull between her and the placenta (maybe about five minutes, if that).

Well, if I never achieve any other form of fame, at least I'm a cautionary tale.

I'm very seriously considering calling up the midwives, telling them I still have some issues, and want to discuss what happened and why from just so I can satisfy in my own mind whether it had to be that way or not.

I'm very, very glad yours was easier!
