AmyLiz, the b just means they're quoting only part of the verse, with something missing from the front--if they left something off the end, they'd use an a.
DH just called. It looks like we're going to have to put a stop payment on our April rent check, which fortunately the landlord hasn't deposited yet, in order to keep our lights on. My solution of "pay them a token $25 or so now, then pay them what we would pay the landlord once DH gets paid in ten days," isn't enough to fix the problem once it's this dire. While a month's rent is less than what he owes, it's over half of it, which apparently keeps the wolves from our door, and then we can pay the rest instead of our rent at the end of the month.
Sheesh. I really wish we were in a position to move, but we're not just yet.
