I've never had Indian food either. There are several good Indian restaurants here, but I've never been. No one will go with me and I'm irrationally freaked about going by myself and trying food that I've never had before. I think it's the last of my "omigod! people will laugh and think I'm stupid and don't belong!" fears.

When in doubt, just order the garlic naan. You won't be sorry. It's flat bread of delectable flavor and crispness, with butter and garlic. If garlic's not your thing (how sad), go with plain naan.
