Inara: We thought we lost you. Mal: Well, I've been right here.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Damn that mouse! Glad your back is better, Jessica.

Much easy birth~ma to Plei and the Princess.

Nora, much condo love from here, too. I am in love with the water feature and so nice to have a fireplace in the bedroom. I hadn't even noticed that on first view.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Many people can't seem to see the house for the decorating. We moved a lot when I was growing up. We moved into one house whose previous owners had very modern furniture and the house was pretty modern for the time. It had aluminum windows without divided lights and a fair amount of chrome. We had antiques and pretty traditional decorating. More than one buyer said, "I just don't think this will work. I have modern furniture."

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Prepares to roll out the red carpet for Princess Ticky-box and sends lots of ~ma.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Popping in to wish happy belated 1st birthdays to Annabel and Owen!!!!!! One whole year. Time has flown.

Plei, I'll be thinking good thoughts for you, Paul, and Princess Tickybox today. I've been bouncing around the office all morning.

And I'm off! Toodles, everyone.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch:

Nora and Tom, congratulations on impending home-ownership! I'm so happy for you both.

Here's hoping that some of that luck will rub off on DF and I.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I can see the appeal of moving into an already-nicely-decorated house, and not having to worry about replacing wallpaper or carpet or anything. But complaining that the previous tennants had ugly furniture is only relevant if they move out and leave it behind, thus forcing you to carry a ton of their crap down to the sidewalk before you can even think about moving your stuff in. Er, hypothetically speaking.

Thrive to spite them

Some of the people on Sell This House just get weird. There was one couple whose house was filthy. Not just messy, filthy. When the couch was moved you could see where it was because of the outline in dog hair. And they had done nothing to clean it up or do anything about the dog smell and couldn't figure out why it wasn't selling.

The Sell this House team did more than anything I've seen. Ripped up carpet, steam cleaned carpet, did some things with the windows. I think in the master bedroom they ripped up the carpet and ended up painting the floor, there were massive dustbunnies all over the place -- the whole room was done in white like a fancy beach house or spa. It was incredible. And the woman hated it, she kept going on about how that was her favorite room and now it made her want to cry and they were never going to sell her house.

Of course every person who walked through the house raved about the bedroom.

That's the episode I was thinking of!! The pregnant woman! That house was, in a word, GUH-ROW-DEE. Remember the walls were YELLOW with smoke and nicotine. Guhross.
