Happy birthday Owen. Vw, as a first class self-flagellator, I can relate to your pain.(at least that part) I think Tep is right, but if your conscience(which is always a bit overactive in people like us, to be honest) won't see you through to the Ipod, find some smaller way to show yourself some love for all your hard work.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Go home, Joey.
My sister's cat Gracie was missing for about a week - they've moved to a new house that borders on a large wooded area, and the cat has been in a two-month snit about not being allowed outside. She's pretty fiercely independent, and a dedicated hunter besides. So when she finally was allowed out she bolted into the woods.
Last night, though, my sis rolled over in bed in the middle of the night and got scratched for her trouble. So all's well in Gracie-land.
Hear that, Joey?

{{vw}} Be kind to yourself. Being a perfectionist is not being kind. Being human is. Now, get your butt to class.
Cat~ma, lisah.
Happy Birthday, Big OOOOOOHHHHH!
How many damn versions of "Layla" are there??
One EXCELLENT version is cream colored and has a big head and fluffy ears. (My doggie)
Awwww! I forgot her name was Layla. That is an excellent version. I wish I could meet her one day.
So all's well in Gracie-land.
Yay! I'm just really hoping Joey is sitting at my friend's back door when she gets home.
Happy Birthday, Owen!
Love that. (Even as I want to get a black lab one day and call him Gee.) Or maybe another cat, to be Omar.
No iPod this semester...
The reason you established this incentive was to keep yourself honest about rationalizing your absences. Which, I think it did in this instance. I think you ought to go to class, even though you're not prepared. As Scrappy notes, you need to learn to deal with your imperfections and that means going in unprepared and learning that's not the end of the world.
Personally, I'm for keeping the strict interpretation of the rule. It's no tragedy if you have to wait another semester to get an iPod. And having the incentive has been useful for you - both to get you to class, and as a marker to look at why you wouldn't go to class. But I think you should look at your behavior at the end of the day, after you've gone to the class, after you see how your headache is and then decide. I think if you go to class, deal with it, don't avoid any conversations with your teacher, are honest about everything with yourself then you're still in the game.
Happy birthday Owen, you handsome devil!
I'm fuzzy now. vw, when you get back -- did you go to your other classes today but not Deliverance class, or did you also go to Deliverance class? And which one(s) were you worried about not being prepared for?
