[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

My poor mom. She just found out today that she didn't get that job. It's really a big bummer, 'cause she was one of two candidates they brought back for a second interview. Plus, they called her references. So, she was really close. She's pretty discouraged, though.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but my upper arms are a bit ... not muscular.

You should punch Pete more often. I'm sure you'd get a good workout.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I've been thinking I want a second tatoo too, and like Jessica, I am pretty sure mine would be right above my butt.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

My next tat is goin on my lower right back, right above where low-rise jeans would fall.

I'm tempted by that, but I already have one tattoo that I can't see without looking in a mirror.

Trust my rage

Plei, that's great news and I'm so excited for PTB and you and Paul.

In mememe news, I was at the hospital tonight for a tour of the facilities and a chance to ask the midwives all of our questions. It was very interesting and reassuring...until I walked in the labor & delivery room. I swear I felt my chest tighten just looking around - and it's a really nice, non-hospital looking room. I suppose it was just the real-ness of "this is where it will all happen." Exciting and terrifying at the same time.

At the hospital where Emmett was born, your room is where they do the delivery. They just bring in a special cart after the baby arrives and do all the first tests and eyedrops and whatever. I think I prefer that way, though I've only got the one experience (so far).

Trust my rage

It all happens in the one room. We just looked first at the nursery, the security system, the NICU, all this other stuff, and then the actual room where you stay.

It just looked like a normal room - with a little baby area in the corner. But somehow the reality of actually giving birth and being a parent all hit me like a ton of bricks when I walked in there.

Wait. What? Was that a mention of, mayhap, Australia?

Hee. Hey billytea! I'm going to be in Sydney afternoon June 3 to morning of June 5. Which is a little silly, but only have so much time around the world!

my 10 year college reunion is coming up in a couple months

Really Nora? Why did I think you were a couple years older? I think I just assume married people are either "met in college or before and married crazy young" or "older than me". I perhaps need to change this mindset, as it's not terribly accurate, these days...

That sounds like such a fantastic trip. How long will you be gone, all told? Are you going to see John H in Sydney? Actually, if you want advice on Vietnam, John is a really good person to ask (and, by proxy, Thuy).

I'll be gone two and a half weeks, in total. I'd love to do more, but my boss was already making "eek" faces at this much. :) And I've already emailed John and he's promised Vietnam and Sydney advice.

And I hope you'll get to meet up with Fay in Cairo, too!

That's the plan!! Yay, travel-by-Buffistas!

A small bottle of hand sanitizer would not be a bad idea. Do you think you'll need a water filter for Egypt or Vietnam?

Ooh, hand sanitizer very good idea. Actually, something I often want NOW, and don't have. Need to remember to buy some. I've thought of a water filter, do you have any suggestions? I wasn't sure what might be good. I might just buy lots of bottled water, though.

Can you get either of the visas at the border

Egypt seemed to indicate you maybe could, but it didn't seem certain, the info I read, so since I'm in DC, I figure it's not too big an imposition to do it now.

I leave for another effing business trip on 4/26. I went on 2 business trips in March and have another 2 planned in May.

See, Gloomcookie, that's how you get a free trip around the world, endless business trips!!

I went to my 5 year college reunion, because I'm in town, but it was basically just going to the Queer Happy Hour (wanted to see who was out!) and the main party (hey, free booze!). Generally college I'm in touch with the people I want to be. But high school? There are all these people that I want to see for one evening to find out how/what they're doing, and then I don't really need ot see them again for another, oh, ten years.

We just discovered a teenager we don't know took one of Annabel's newborn pictures and posted it to her blog as "her new baby sister."

Dude. That's weird. How did you find out?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

YAY Princess TickyBox!!! Very exciting.

Also, very exciting for Stephanie!

My next tat is goin on my lower right back, right above where low-rise jeans would fall.

grumble I was all set to get my next tat in January, and now I have wait until June. Stooopid accident. Although, maybe I could get two at once then. On the other hand, one at a time hurts enough that I really don't know about two. On a different thought, I need to get out of the corporate world so I can start getting other tattoos in more public places. Huh. Want more ink on my body. Now.
