Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don't know why the embarassment, though.

Because lots of people aren't as smart as the Buffistas and think it's brought on by uncleanliness, multiple sex partners, etc.

Poor Sweetie. Would it help if we called them "Cooties"?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I had lice in high school and I remember feeling all "Get Offa Me!" until they were gone.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Were you engaging in hat-swapping? Or is that a myth?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

He's holding out on us! Billy needs to give us discounts.

Hee. My secret is out.

Okay, the phrase "bush safaris" is making me giggle like a ten year-old. Clearly I've been at work too long.

Billy Connelly has a hysterical routine about Australian animals ("I don't know how anyone there reaches adulthood"), in which he suggests the middle of Australia is this gigantic desert, with one single bush in the middle of it.

brillig

I thought scabies was a plague of sailors brought on by malnutrition--no, wait, that's scurvy. Never mind.

Punishingly Intricate

I have scabies

The two people I was living with at the time, all three of our dogs, and I all got the mange once. Mange = Scabies except for DOGS! But people can get if they live in close contact with the dogs. As in: let the dogs on the bed/sofas etc.

(at least I think they are different insects but basically the same disease. same symptoms and similar treatment at any rate)

One of the dogs had an immune disorder at the time so he got it badly and that helped it spread to the people. Boy that was a fun time. We had to treat the dogs a bunch of times, treat ourselves, wash everything washable, store things that couldn't be washed (like cushions from the sofa) in plastic bags for a couple of days to kill the insects. We developed a motto "Mange Free in '98."

And we did get rid of the little buggers eventually.

The rash didn't actually look that bad--just little red bumps. However I got a secondary rash from itching that would not go away for MONTHS!

I'm sure vw's scabies will be easier to treat.

one of the small blessings of that time was that the cats couldn't get what we had. I imagine they were laughing and laughing at us.

It's important to know about scurvy, especially when Talk Like a Pirate Day comes around.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My friend's uncle got scurvy. And let me tell you, that takes some trying, living in the U.S. in the late 20th century.
