The family reunions must be fun.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Salt Lake City man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly wired an explosive device to his sister's stereo.
Police said the 24-year-old man allegedly stole his sister's stereo system on Saturday. His sister was able to get the stereo back with the help of her parents.
However, detectives said, when the woman plugged her stereo in -- it began to smoke. She unplugged it and removed the back of the stereo to find the improvised explosive.
The hotel where she was staying had to be partially evacuated while bomb experts destroyed the explosive.
The man was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of building a device with the intent to injure and domestic assault.

(and isn't that a Jane Austen reference?)
Charlotte Bronte.
Jane Eyre.
("Reader, I married him.")
Ack. I should have run to the bookshelf before spouting. I knew the "I married him" part. Do I get half credit?
Somewhere around here, I have a copy of this book [link].

Of course. It's just that I read
Jane Eyre
obsessively when I was growing up, and have developed a massive Jane Austen obsession as an adult. And I am pedantic and have a compulsive urge to display my knowledge whenever a chance presents itself.
That makes you my Showoff Sistah.
It's one of my most useful, if not charming...erm...charms.
I like being the go-to-gal, and besides, knowing stuff is FUN.
eta: In some other thread, a discussion of the various Jane Eyre movies intrigued me. I loved the Timothy!toopretty Dalton version, but I have to say, the Ciarin Hinds version has become my favorite. I have a bright, shiny copy of the book on my shelf too. A much loved favorite.
damn
Now that's high praise, from one librarian to another.
Awww. Emeline is so sweet. And yet (and I totally, seriously mean this as a compliment) she's not even super-photogenic. Pictures of her give you an idea of her cutiefulness, but the actual three-dimensional Emeline is exponentially more graceful and elegant and gorgeous. She's gonna grow up to be the female Matt: someone whose pictures wow you until you meet them in person, and then you're just completely flattened by the "this-charisma-goes-to-eleven" force of their full gorgeousness.
Also, something about her bone structure makes her look so much like her father in pictures, but in real life she's a beautiful balance of both Joe and Aimée, with a big healthy dose of looking exactly like her own unique self and nobody else.
And even so--such cutiehead pictures!
ION, I feel all twitchy and nervous. Trevor Hoffman, a pitcher for the Padre,s was here reading stories to the kids, and I went and talked to him for a few minutes, showed him a picture of Emmett, and got him to sign pictures for Emmett and for my friend's son Max, who is autistic (this guy has friends with an autistic child and has appeared at some benefits in San Diego). I'd never heard of him before. I don't even like baseball that much. And I'm still all residually nervous and meltdowny. Just dumb.
