Illyria: Wesley's dead. I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it. I wish to do more violence. Spike: Well, wishes just happen to be horses today.

Here you are, talking about ice cream and cookies, and I'm about ready to head out and pick up my first batch of diet food, which starts with tonight's dinner. Of course, I had a donut and Cadbury mini-eggs for breakfast as one last pig-out treat.

Be that as it may, it's good you're back here and no longer in the hospital, Jeff!

Together? That's either greedy or just gross, I'm not sure which. morphine, cookies, and ice cream. Of course, I'm the idiot who ate a dinner featuring a nice pinot noir and my head's weight in red licorice...don't try that at home, hmm?

The chocolate was my pre-lunch nibble food, a few hours after breakfast.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Welcome back Jeff! Glad you're on the mend.

Welcome back, Jeff. All kinds of healthy thoughts continuing your way.

My professor was awarded patent # 5,000,000

PTO slumbernut. Heh.

I think I will go get some ice cream. They're probably out of morphine, though.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I had Merlot/Chocolate Chip ice cream in a sugar cone yesterday. I think that's as close as I'm getting to David's trifecta.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Morphine Ripple Crunch. My favorite. With Percocet sprinkles on top.

I have crab-stuffed flounder baking right now. Yum.

Oh, hey, remember the conversation about do you have to talk shit about other religions to be the leader of one? My mom's church is a member of the Center for Progressive Christianity, and has this printed in the bulletin. Excerpts:

By calling ourselves progressive, we mean that we are Christians who…

2. Recognize the faithfulness of other people who have other names for the way to God's realm, and acknowledge that their ways are true for them, as our ways are true for us;

4. Invite all people to participate in our community and worship life without insisting that they become like us in order to be acceptable (including but not limited to):
believers and agnostics,
conventional Christians and questioning skeptics,
women and men,
those of all sexual orientations and gender identities,
those of all races and cultures,
those of all classes and abilities,
those who hope for a better world and those who have lost hope;

6. Find more grace in the search for understanding than we do in dogmatic certainty - more value in questioning than in absolutes;

8. Recognize that being followers of Jesus is costly, and entails selfless love, conscientious resistance to evil, and renunciation of privilege.

I thought it was interesting.
