In my neighborhood, a 712 sq ft apartment was listed at 439K. It sold for 499K.

Sorry, just feeling unoptomistic this morning. Maybe this weekend will go better.

What 499K buys in my zip code.

Somewhat inflated because it's in an upscale gated community with a golf course and it's pretty new.

Gud, my husband's family lives in Overland Park and Blue Springs. They don't understand why we can't buy anything out here because they just can't process the prices.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

How much would a postage stamp condo go for, in your neighborhood?

I believe for a 2B in my neighborhood, the condo rate is currrently in the 240K+ range, without any knowledge of the size. (Probably 50K less in Revere.) I don't expect my own apartment to sell for any less than 240K (if it were to be sold). You'd be really alarmed to see what "luxury condo" means around here.

Okay, I don't think we're that bad yet.

Overland Park seems expensive to me, Missouri side Kansas City is pretty cheap.

We're special! (Goddess bless my rent controlled apartment, that I moved into less than 6 months before the city dropped rent control.)

Happy Birthday Betsy!

ita -- congratulations on your cousin's achievement. (Seems weird to do it that way -- but you know what I mean.)

Hmmm, so last night I picked Project Trainwreck over er -- it looks like either way there was going to be squicky eyeball stuff. Although with PTW you're talking watching the fake squicky eyestuff being made rather than watching it and feeling it as if it is real.

Isn't the Missouri side considered the "nicer" side of Kansas City? I admit, I'm sometimes confused where I am and if I've crossed the state line or not as we travel around there.

What is even happening?

You'd be really alarmed to see what "luxury condo" means around here.
And then you've got condo fees on top of the mortgage. In (very) general terms, I don't think it is as good of an investment to mortgage to buy a condo to live in, as it is to mortgage to buy a single family home in which to live.
