I've found that Windows does a pretty good job of stretching and compressing within reasonable boundaries -- have you given that a shot?
For some reason, my only options here are Tile or Center. Stretch seems to have been disabled. (No, I don't understand it either. I can install Firefox, but I can't stretch my wallpaper.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
I have rotating pictures of cute fellows as my desktop. Right now, it's a promo still from Sin City of Clive Owen leaning against a wall, gun in hand and fire in his eyes. I am known for my excellent taste in work-appropriate Cute Guy images, and several of the women who work here come by for regular updates on the newest picture.
