I never tried it that early, but my pediatrician swore it was the right time to try it. You might want to think about pull-ups for days, when you're home, because it will make it easier for her, and something more under her own control (which is half the fun for them, I think).

I was planning on buying her some pull-ups, Cindy, since she was a bit miffed that we put another diaper on her after such a stellar performance. Of course, it was wet a short while later. She doesn't really have the bladder control yet, but I want to encourage her. She's moving into that stage where she wants to do everything for herself.

Actually, she seems to have taken the alternate equipment in her stride. And yeah, the rule is to sit in front of her so she learns she's supposed to sit. I imagine one would want a little boy to sit too, after all, some *men* have problems with aim, I wouldn't want to trust a toddler!
