If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sounds about right, Susan.

Dana, OMG that is quite possibly the funniest damned thing I've ever seen. Bwah. Hah.

Ok, what am I missing?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Wrong, and yet funny.

So, so true.

txt msging w/ the boy today:

Me: So, the new Pope looks just like Palpatine.
Him: Wait, the Pope is Zell Miller?
Me: Nah, just an ex-Nazi and Grand Inquisitor.*
Him: Oh, well, then. That makes all the difference.

* Not actually trying to reopen that convo. Just reporting the txt snark.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dana what am I missing on the link?

Susan -- backhand or front? Open or closed fist? You're more likely to get blood with the backhand, since the knuckles squeezing flesh against teeth encourages the whole blood stuff.

You may want to also consider the wrenching in the neck, a fiery sensation on the outside of the cheek as well as the shredded inside (especially if her mouth was open when he hit her). And it might prompt involuntary tears. Being hit in the face (especially near the nose) can do that.

Guns, IME, left me feeling like I had far fewer choices.

Don't forget knives. Dangerous shit. Really dangerous.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Susan, I haven't been slapped or punched since I was a teenager, but based on the last fight I fought, I'd think her cheek might buzz, sting, and later burn. If her mouth was open, she would have cut her inner cheek on her teeth. Depending on how hard she was hit, she might feel dizzy from the impact, but she would probably be feeling sort of heightened awareness (and maybe a bit woozy) from the rush of adrenaline.

(Lots of xposts there)

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

brenda and ita, click on the link again and look at the upper right hand corner. The picture and the entry do not match.

Oh, I see.

Of course, I have no idea who that is, but there you go.

Up with the sun

Oh. I assumed that was a picture of him as a young(er) man in some German church get-up. Who is it really?

Edit: Never mind, it's a Star Wars joke.
