Mal: How come you didn't turn on me, Jayne? Jayne: Money wasn't good enough. Mal: What happens when it is? Jayne: Well... that'll be an interesting day.

Lovely loveseat.

Ugh, I hope the drugs help Brendon and that future surgery goes well and smoothly.

Yay for Hec, and for Alex!

And to Rio, the invitation I got did have an "in lieu of" thingie, as I recall. A charity.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I love the loveseat. I saw one like it in purple in a restaurant lounge. I coveted it then, I covet it now. Not enough room in the condo, though.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And last but not least--No. 10 in today's LA Times Bestselling Books (paperback) is "Lost in the Grooves." Go Hec!

Rock! And it only took like three major promotional events in LA to make it happen.

I have a lovely Easter brunch all set out for the arrival of JZ's mom. I'm making the labor intensive waffles with blueberries, strawberries and bananas. I've also got thick sliced bacon cooking. Some warm brie on crusty bread. Coffee is brewing. Tulips on the table which is set with loving contributions from msbelle and Jon B. We've got some Prosecco to drink, or make Mimosa with. Sun's shining in through the back door and Sam Cooke on the stereo.

Happy Easter.

Our wings are not tired.

That sounds lovely! Happy Easter to you and yours David.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Driving fast (okay, maybe very fast)+not trusting the time listed by mapquest+being a worryier=WAY too much time to kill at the airport.

How are people's easter's going?

Still waiting for JZ's mom to arrive, and fretting about my waffle batter (which has beaten egg whites folded in at the end, and I did that about...half hour ago).

I hope she gets there soon, and hope the batter is fine.

Always Anti-fascist!

It's always fine. My brother just told us how screwed we are. Very fucking festive. Was a bit anxious before, now feel like playing in traffic. Dessert will be nice, though.

That is a sweet gift, Allyson.

I have done jack shit this weekend. OK, maybe groceries and laundry, but....and I haven't seen the sun in 3 days.

Unusual cross-cultural music heard within an hour: That "We will rock you" song popular in stadiums. Done with bagpipes. Then, "Rock the Casbah." In Arabic. Made me blink, then laugh.

Had dreams of kidnapping human children from penguin parents (who were very angry about it) with characters from various tv shows. We settled in rural Alabama and then some of the children turned into penguins and fish was hard to find. I REALLY wonder what radio news stories were on while I was sleeping through my alarm. And Jazz After Hours on sunday morning is really really really making me hate jazz.

I think I need more excitement.
