If you're going to take it somewhere you know guns aren't welcome, I'm thinking you'll conceal illegally.
I guess my idea of self defense is to assume that I'm not to be attacked. And I shouldn't have to walk around proving it (does that make me more deserving of attack when I'm not packing). It just is.
If you choose to ignore my basic right to not be fucked with, then you find out what I'm packing or not.

Cops get weapons retention training. I think anyone that carries a gun should have it too (although I don't think its required by law). Having visible guns encourages things other than staying away, and I suspect they'd escalate more often than is good.
