Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You write in the zeros?

I hope you get to have some fun, Jesse.

I'm off to turn my modem in and run errands and see Burrell.

Waves goodbye to the board.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The form says to!! (Um, doesn't it? I have actually only filed on paper once in the last five years or so. I used to be able to Tele-File, and this year I did it online.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No fun for you, Jesse!

I don't get freaked out by doing taxes, I get freaked out by paying them. Which is why my $32 state tax waited until the last minute, but I've had my federal refund for more than a month.

No, I don't feel that makes any sense.

Moscow Museum of Architecture (I imagine a building with lots of buildings inside...) and Moscow's buildings that never got built.

Gorgeous.

Eh, that makes more sense than my fellow-student friend who has been FREAKING OUT for weeks.

Well, as long as I make more sense than someone.

Hey, want to come over and make me waffles?

What is even happening?

It makes tons of sense, financially speaking (as opposed to freak speaking). It is more sensible to file for any refunds due you as soon as possible, and delay paying any tax you owe, until the last moment before you'll have to start paying interest, or be otherwise fined or penalized.

I can swallow the interest on $32. What'd have made more sense was to get it taken care of before the 15th, instead of realising that there's no way to e-file on the 15th and mail on the 15th with all the right paperwork. I should have e-filed right away, and then waited to send the cheque. As is, I've sent a jumble of paperwork, and we'll just have to cross our fingers.

Sure!

No, crap, I have to transcribe tapes.

Fine, Jesse. See if I ever make you waffles.

Chocolate as sacrament?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I thought I was going to have that problem, but fortunately New Mexico let me direct deposit. Err, the problem of checks-in-the-mail, that is, not chocolate as sacrament. I don't think there's a direct deposit for that.

In my earlier and more paranoid days, I would be convinced that the very act of doing so would put my bank account on some sort of state agency watch list. Now I am just lazy, and figure, probably everyone else is too, and if they have the energy to monitor citizens bank accounts, then, good luck to them.

I am a bad, slacking conspiracy theorist.

I think people freak out about their taxes because it is their only form of interfacing with their government, and thereby, intimidating.
