LOVE Sarah Vowell! I plan on using some of her essays in my putative classes next fall (please Employment Gods, knock on wood.)

What are you gonna be teaching, Erin?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

he labelled his horizontal axis y.

Is this bad?? I had no idea. I was watching and saw that, but it didn't stand out at me. Of course, I'm also the person who had to go to our CFO for help with some math this week.

tommyrot, you went to the Sarah Vowell reading? I thought about it, but I'm home doing homework. Blech. I love her.

High school English, hopefully. I finished my student teaching TODAY!!!!

Now I have to revamp my formative portfolio by Tuesday, and then the serious job searching begins.

The school I student taught at is having budget issues and isn't hiring teachers, or else I wouldn't mind staying there. I would love to be at a school with a high element of Hispanic kids, since I LOVED my Latina students.

  • sniff* I got two invitations to quincineras this spring, and am SO going to go. I really loved these girls!

Wow. I efiled my Missouri taxes Tuesday night, and my return was in my bank account today.

Color me impressed.

I guess Missouri has become the Show Me the Money State.

Was that any moreso in the 80s than other decades? No one really wears much of that crap.

While I'll cede that regular folks' clothes were more ridiculous in the 70s, I don't think high fashion has ever topped the excess of the motorcycle dress from George Michael's "Too Sexy" video.

I efiled on Monday. I bet Illinois doesn't get my return to me before May 20th.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

tommyrot, you went to the Sarah Vowell reading?

Uh-huh. It was at 6:00 in the Harold Washington library. I missed the Metra, so I took a Purple Line Express and just made it....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I dunno, Matt. The runways are replete with crap.
