Allyson, how big are the candles? If they're small, I'd try burning the candles for an hour or more. Then pour off the melted wax, and the remaining wax might be soft enough to push or dig out.

aurelia, I think what's happened is that you and I both have alter egos that go out and have dashing adventures, but somehow they're refusing to share these exciting memories with us.
Which is quite mean of them, but explains some of these bruises, and a bit of this tiredness.
