Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No, my mother banged pots in the kitchen instead.

I have had to specifically ask my parents to grind the coffee ahead of time when I'm there visiting. Being woken up at 6 am by the coffee grinder? Even the prospect of fresh coffee doesn't help.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I like kitchen noises. But then (going back to a previous conversation), I never have trouble falling back asleep in the morning, so it's pleasant for me to just lie there in a sleepy haze and listen to someone else making noise in the kitchen--preferably while making food for me to eat.

The status is NOT quo.

Kate, my sistah! I feel exactly the same way.

Trust my rage

Jesse (I think?), they changed the headling to "Mom: Jackson pleaded to sleep with my son." I guess someone agreed with us.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm with Kate and Kristin. Kitchen noises when I am not in the kitchen=someone else making me food, which is always a delightful thing to contemplate.

Should the kitchen noises not be followed by the presentation of either food or coffee I do become a little surly, but this is a thankfully infrequent occurrence.

I HATE being woken up by kitchen noises. OH my god, the HATE.

Right there with you on that. And funfun, my dad is physically incapable of setting a kettle on a burner without it sounding like the whole thing is collapsing. He can't even add sweetener to his coffee quietly. It's actually quite a feat, how dang LOUD the man can be without even opening his mouth.

So I got singing AND kitchen noises in the morning and I am not a morning person.

Kinda surprising I'm not locked up.

Phew. Thanks for the update.
