Buffy: You tossed that vamp like he was a... little teeny vamp. Riley: You wanna go again? C'mon. I bet this place is just teeming with aerodynamic vampires.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It's a beautiful mental image. I just picture the guy lying there, getting the second hand into position and then "Hey, wait just a....dang it all to hell."

If the washers are all full with finished laundry, I'll usually wait about ten or fifteen minutes and come back. If it's still there, I'll take it out.

I've folded people's stuff before, cause I sure don't care, but from earlier iterations of this conversation I've learned that it skeeves some people, so I don't anymore.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The amputation fetish is well-known enough that some doctors basically argue they might as well go ahead and do it, as the guys who are really determined about it either do botched home-made jobs of it, or they find skeevy semi-medical people to do the job for them with even worse results.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

In ballpark news, the Red Sox game is under way. In the introduction of the players, all the Yankees got booed as expected, except Mariano Rivera, who got cheered wildly for giving up the hits that let us win last week. He laughed about it, tipped his cap.

They cheered for Torre too, which was nice. Giving the ring to Johnny Pesky was a nice touch to the ceremony. It made me a bit teary how he thanked every player and asked for a hug.

(Though I've got my doubts on the "unintentional" bit for a lot of it....)

I'm getting the pig!

Did we already know there was an Angel Soundtrack? Am I just the last to know?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think the first to know, Nicole.

A newly-recorded, full-length version of the main-title song

Hmph. I want the original version. That's the one I know. Freakin' control freak Joss and your theme do-overs. I don't care if the first Buffy theme goes off-beat at one point. It's much more punk rock in its original incarnation and the click track version that succeeded it wasn't as good.
