the word cowbell now makes me burst out laughing EVERY SINGLE TIME I read or hear it. DAmn Walkin and Farrell.
I haven't even SEEN the actual skit, just heard friends riffing on it, yet I hear Walken's voice, plain as day, whenever I see the word now.
Did I miss anything in the past week?
The dept. chair at a small private college has asked me if I would be interested in teaching a section of one of his classes and wants to know how much I would ask for payment. I need to find out how many class periods he has in mind, etc. What I don't know is what would be reasonable fee. Any thoughts/advice from the hivemind?
One Meeeelionnn dollars.
But seriously, can you pro-rate from what a full-time prof's salary would be? That's just a guess....
eta: OK, pro'lly not a prof, since you're not one.
I had to close the door to my office. cannot stop laughing.
David, I have that book, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I'll kick it up a couple notches in the queue.
Kate, let me know if you're interested in Tropicalia after the book. I've got a bunch, and it's on the expensive side so I could send you some.
That's a wildflower status of 7?!?
aurelia, my impression is that adjunct faculty basically make zero dollars. Or like one or two dollars, tops. But that's as much as I know.
What I don't know is what would be reasonable fee. Any thoughts/advice from the hivemind?
This is going to be hard to judge without knowing their standard contracts. We pay $5000 at my large public university. Nationally known private universities pay more. On the other hand, the local community college pays $850.
