There had been a report that Michael had said no, but later changed his mind. And it went exactly as you described it (according to reports).
You're allowed to give communion to people who aren't mentally there? Do they give communion to people in comas, too? I guess I thought there had to be some kind of volition involved in it, but maybe not.
I do remember reading over the weekend that she was given last rites.
And also my understanding of Catholic practice might be off, but I thought you couldn't receive communion (and maybe Last Rites) without going to confession?
Might be totally wrong and there might be exceptions.
