The water's all public, isn't it?
I dunno - if it's you (generic) and a great white, who's water is it?

Well, not the person who owns the house that abuts what I understand is public sand. Anyone, as far as I know, can swim or be ripped to shreds by predators in the waters off Halle Berry's mansion.

And by sharks, too!
Well, JS just lodged some disturbing images in my head. shudder
Nothing's uglier than Halle Berry in the throes of a feeding frenzy.
Dover, PA pastor admits that he's an idiot.
Pastor Ray Mummert is fighting to bring God back into the classroom and banish the teaching of Evolution in his small Pennsylvania town. In a news article about how a decision by the local school board ordering teachers to instruct their students that Evolution is “just a theory” and to teach Intelligent Design has left the citizenry deeply riven over the issue, Mummert essentially owns up to being a clueless moron:
"We’ve been attacked by the intelligent, educated segment of the culture,"
Her husband "claimed" she had bulimia. Never mind that it was determined by the court after an extensive malpractice suit that she definitely had it, that her doctors definitely failed to diagnose it, and that their failure was what ultimately led to her catastrophic electrolyte imbalance and brain-starving arrhythmia -- nope, per CNN, this was just his claim.
Yeah, this pissed me off, too. As much as the unsubstantiated claims that her collapse was from spousal abuse (this was bandied about by the president of my home town's Right to Life group). They have no problem telling out and out lies to try to spin the story their way.
The videos on that Monterey Bay shark page are awesome. Divers dressing in full chain-mail suits to go swimming with her.
Great white sharks are so freakin' serious looking.

What I found frustrating is that the didn't give time to the more reasonable doubts, while giving stuff like that their time.

I'm also not sure why the judge ruled that attempting to feed her by mouth was a no-go. If it didn't work, the outcome would be the same, and if it did, then wouldn't that have been a good thing? (Given that her parents were willing to take responsibility for it, of course.) I know that would have meant Michael giving up guardianship to them, though, so maybe that was the issue?
