Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Are saltines soda crackers?

I always thought so. My guess is that soda crackers are crackers leavened with baking soda, and saltines are soda crackers with salt, but I've been misled by similar logic in the past.

I'm pretty sure "Saltines" is just a brand name for soda crackers that's been adopted item-wise like Kleenex for tissues or Oleo for margerine.

Thrive to spite them

Hee! Clearly, they were trying to make you uncomfortable. How marvelous that it backfired every time.

Yeah. It was always so obvious when some guy was asking that to make me uncomfortable -- you could just see it all over their faces.

There was some guy who called the store all the time and never came in, he'd ask about what kind of adult style videos we had -- Playboy, penthouse, movies, and go through the list. Then at the very end he'd ask if we had videos with guys in them. I think maybe he was developementally delayed, and he called all the time. My manager who was cool also had a cruel streak and would give the phone to me everytime he called. (He called enough we could recognize his voice even though we never had a name).

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Then at the very end he'd ask if we had videos with guys in them.

Snerk. That rmeinds me of the video store clerk's blog, where she would talk about the people heading down into their basement o' porn, and how things like TS movies were basically gateways for straight men to their gayness, as gay men are never interested in TS porn -- the TS porn is kept in the straight porn section.

It was fun reading.

It also left you feeling a little creeped out about being a video store patron.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

TS porn?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay Emmett!

I'm sitting in the San Jose Airport, waiting for my flight. I spurgled and bought the one day ($6.95) wireless plan, since it seems like my plan is going to be delayed. My gate is right across from the Cinnabon stand, and I am trying not to splurge there.

This morning, I went to the Apple Campus, to see G's office and visit the company store. I bought a shuffle, a tshirt saying, "I've been to the motherland", and presents for Emma and Princess Tickybox.

It was fun.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
