Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I thought Keanu did a good job portraying some character that coincidentally shared the same name and smoking habits as the John Constantine from the comics. As long as I didn't let myself look at it as an adaptation, it was entertaining.

I am with Matt in this. I actually found myself idly wanting to watch Constantine again recently. I may have to start looking for a super-cheap used copy.

Fight Club is one of the favorite movies at House o' Reason. But I don't find Brad Pitt sexy. Amusing and decorative, yes, but that's about it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Pitt was borderline hot in Thelma and Louise and, I'll confess, in Interview with the Vampire what with the long dark hair and enough pancake makeup to hide his horrible, horrible skin. In other movies, not so much.

Regardless of how they clean him up I'll never be able to find him attractive again after that viewing of Twelve Monkeys that I've talked about previously.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

and, I'll confess, in Interview with the Vampire

Now that's crazytalk. He looked like a crack-addicted chipmunk in that movie.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Brad as Mickey O'Neil

Whoa -- he looks incredibly like Sam Rockwell in that one.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
