The recent TV one was pretty much crap, but this looks like it could be fun.

I thought Terry Farrell (that's Jadzia's real name, right?) was bananas to try and up her contract since she was playing a character that was COMPLETELY recastable. And if they'd never switched hosts it would have been like the unfired gun on a stage -- just unforgivable.
Jadzia/Worf never did it for me
It annoyed me. Back in the day Worf was all "we're mated for life now" with the half-klingon chick and now he was all casual sex Worf.

From what I heard, she got the job on Becker, and was willing to do both shows, but the Trek producers thought it would be more interesting to kill off Jadzia. YHearsayMV.

Yeah, I never got the Worf/Deanna thing. It just made no sense whatsoever.
I didn't have any problems with Worf and Jadzia, though. From the first season, Dax was shown to be a kindred spirit with Klingons, so when she started flirting with Worf it seemed natural.

Marina Sirtis was at DragonCon this year, and she's a riot in person. I always feel bad disliking characters after I see the actors being cool and funny and likeable.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
We just saw The Producers. So. Much. Fun. It's very much like a fimed version of the play with some nice bells and whistles thrown in. But since the play was great, the movie is lots of fun. We were at a press screening and there was even applause after some numbers. I am a big ole musical geek, so I loved every minute.

Yeah, she was a complete riot when she came to Memphis years ago. Even the character had occasional glimmers of being worthwhile, but they were few and far between.

So JZ and I watched China Seas the other night. Big 30s action drama romance starring Clark Gable and Jean Harlow. Gable and Harlow were all star power and chemistry (though not particularly nuanced in their acting), and the story reminded me mostly of a Firefly episode. It also had Wallace Beery (which brought Barton Fink to mind) and a young Rosalind Russell as The Proper British Widow. (Her acting was both nuanced and nicely scene stealing in a few places.)
Classic thirties Hollywood, but excellent storytelling with big consequences and character-revealed-in-action and stuff like that.
