Hey, preaching to the choir. I thought our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked right through that door and right into my ass—which is where my heart is…physiologically. I could show you an x-ray.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know it -- horror when they realize that they can never top my beauty. Happens all the time.

So really it's more of a self-loathing they feel as they are exposed by your radiance?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

The Lady Vanishes

But that's not Powe... oh. OK, not an entire day of Michael Powell-fest. Heh. 'S cool. Actually the line-up for that whole day is pretty kick-ass. I adore The Lady Vanishes, To Have and Have Not, and of course, Out of the Past.

5:00 PM A Matter of Life and Death (1947) An injured aviator argues in celestial court for the chance to go on living. David Niven, Kim Hunter, Robert Coote. D: Michael Powell, Emeric Pressburger. 104m.

I Know Where I'm Going

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!

Um, ahem, sorry about that, but I keep on delaying buying the Criterion DVD of this due to brokeness, and I love it to pieces even though I've only seen it once, about 15 years ago. One of the most romantic films ever.

Totally. Hence the eyes going wide.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

You know, I sort of have to take an exception to the cast list for AMOLAD...

David Niven, Kim Hunter, Robert Coote.

Because they left out Roger Livesey, who's totally my obscure dead British boyfriend! Man, I love Doc Reeves. SO MUCH. Wheeee!

It really is. I love Point Blank too.

I've never seen (or even heard of) Point Blank. Sounds like I need tor remedy that.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

It really is. I love Point Blank too.

This just got a shiny new DVD, with a commentary track by Boorman talking to Stephen Soderbergh.
