I saw
2046
last weekend and was disappointed. I loved
In the Mood for Love
but this movie was just... wacky. Most of it was a retread of ITMFL, which while pretty, is still a retread. Then it went into this
futuristic mode that was silly and dumb.
Another annoyance is that
Maggie Cheung was credited but appeared for like a minute and most of that minute was footage from ITMFL.
Also, too long!
Last night we watched
The Star
with Bette Davis. Sad story of a washed-up movie star. Good but pitiful.
I tried watching Bully last night and didn't make it more than about 20 minutes in. Somehow I'd forgotten it was a Larry Clark film and should have been prepared. I don't remember whether or not I liked Kids, although I remember it was pretty uncomfortable to watch. I just didn't have the patience for this one. Three teen sex scenes in 15 minutes was my limit.

That's too bad. I loved In The Mood For Love, too.

Yeah... I narrowly avoided renting Ken Park the other day because I'd heard aquaintances talking about how steamy it was and didn't realize it was a Larry Clark movie until I was looking at the videotape box.
This is making the rounds on the internets. I can't vouch for its veracity, but it's kind of funny.

Well, at least
some
things translate across all cultures...
So, I saw Sahara on the plane back from Houston. It was fluffy and forgettable, but didn't totally suck. Steve Zahn was the best part of it, I thought.
V for Vendetta release date pushed back to March "to accomodate the movie's post-production schedule."
Pity about the trailer's tagline...
Yeah, it really does need to be released on 11/5. If they're going to push it back that far, I can wait just a little longer.
