A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

isn't anyone interested in how a guy who looks like Kevin Spacey got the reputation of Keyser Soze?
No, not really. I'm completely comfortable with the myth. Don't wawnt to know about his home life or his childhood traumas.
That's how I feel about Batman!
Keyser Soze is Bruce Wayne's brother.
Batman is a childhood trauma -- if you don't want to know, it's the whole character that doesn't interest you. Keyser doesn't need to be so defined. The Batman persona falls apart (or becomes another character) without it.
I don't think I want to know how Keyser Soze got to be Keyser Soze, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in action. Maybe. I could very easily mind very much if he is revealed to be just another bad guy and not the devil.
The Empire Strikes Back
Also very very good.
I don't want Keyser's childhood with relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery, I want to know how Kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze.
I like the mystery. I also don't think there's any good way to make him Keyser Soze, so there's that.
I'm with ita -- I think a backstory would weaken the character.
And would someone please tell my brain to stop singing "Hey Keyser Soze Keyser Soze Keyser Soze" to the tune of "Macarena"? Thanks.
Damn you Jessica.
