I remember a really really depressing plotline in which Mr Fantastic and the Invisible Girl lost their child - can't remember if it died, or what, and it all happened on some other planet/some other dimension.

Their son was Franklin, I'm not sure what his exact story was but he was super super smart. For awhile he hung out with the Power Pack. The Power Pack were siblings (2 boys, 2 girls) who got their powers from aliens. I don't remember what their powers were but at some point all their powers got mixed between them.

...I'm quite endeared by the prospect of Spidey and the She Hulk etc stepping in to cover for members of the Fantastic Four when they were, what, on holiday, or on sick leave, or having a pyjama day, or whatever. Like Super Temps. Cool.

Yeah, but how many movies can you argue proved them wrong about that one? Right now I'm coming up with House of the Dead and Out Cold (the ski "comedy" with Jason London, not the Clooney version) that might be contenders, and not a lot else. Catwoman looked like more fun to me.

She-Hulk? ...talk about your lame attempts at parity.

They're definitely in the pantheon of Major Heroes, and the first 100 issues are all essential for creating the Marvelverse.

But, like, I'd never heard of them till recently. Within the comic book universe, they sound like they're really important, but their mainstream penetration factor seems kinda low.

She Hulk is pretty cool. She's Banner's cousin and he gave her a blood transfusion. But it didn't effect her the way it had him. She got bigger (taller, bustier, etc), powerful, and green and she's like that all the time, but she kept all of her intelligence.

Even though she's very obviously She Hulk, she's a practicing lawyer (I think).

Members of the spandex set that have had their own shows that I have watched: Superman, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Hulk. (The Flash had one, as I recall, but I didn't watch it.)

(Heh. My non-comics comics character exposure appears to be 50/50 DC/Marvel. Which is so unlike my 90/10 ratio on the pulls.)

I have no real conclusions, except that Spider-Woman was totally underrated, and that Bendis totally had my number with New Avengers.
