Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Vonnie, the instances I was thinking of were interviews. So, not in any kind of character. It's always a little reassuring to know that people typecast as really tense aren't necessarily so when they're at home.

Unless you're Christian Bale.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm pretty sure he's happy in Greenfingers, even if not right away.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Vonnie, the instances I was thinking of were interviews.

Huh. I don't think I've ever seen him being interviewed. Must rectify this somehow.

Finally! A definition of the Hegelian dialectic that clicks for me.

Also a short Batman Begins review.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Hasn't Owen done more cerebral characters on stage? Death of Joe Egg for example?

Being the skimmer that I am, when I first read that my mind went to Cash's little boy, Owen. I was mightily impressed.

Art Crawl!!!

I didn't know that Paula Deen is in the new Orlando Bloom/Kirsten Dunst movie!

Also, is this Patty Griffin the Patty Griffin of Living With Ghosts ? I mean, the singer/song writer?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Clive Owen can do different Brit accents--he did a great one (west country, I think?) in Precious Bane back in 1989, when he played Gideon Sarn. IIRC, he even cracked a smile or two in character, before his bumper crop was burned. Then he went all broodypants.

I wish they would release that on DVD--AFAIK, it's never been out on video or disc.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

So, not Carrot Top, then?

I have never seen this movie, but I read the book, and "broodypants" is the nicest thing I can think of to say about it.
