From this article in the Boston Herald about
The History of Violence:
Cronenberg, who engaged in a Euro-style lip-lock with his leading man in front of the paparazzi, said ``sex and violence'' are natural partners.
It's just a habit with Viggo, isn't it?
So. Very. Good.
I AM NOT ALONE!!!
weeps for joy
(I am so angry at Lucas for making eps 1 and 2 suck as much as they did. The complete suckitude of those two films makes it nearly impossible to say how good 3 was and be taken seriously. Because, really, what reason do people have not to be expecting a crapfest of epic proportions? Bastard.)
Why did he even make them if he didn't have any story to put in them? I mean really. If he knew all the story was going into 3, why not just go with it. Call "Clone Wars" Ep 2 and leave Ep 1 open for when he gets a good idea not involving a child actor.
The poster for Monster-in-Law, at least the one they are using here, really sucks.
Watched PotC last night, again, and noticed Orlando's Fellowship tattoo in the blacksmithy duel. Did we know you could see it?
Ep. 1 could have been about stuff from Anakin's parents life, couldn't it?
Oh well.
EW has a fun Cannes blog.
Dork Tower has its say on the new Star Wars (no spoilers): [link]
Jessica, my sistah. The movie was totally awesome! First off, best opening sequence of a SW movie EVAR. There was chemistry between Anakin and Padme, warped though it may have been! There was Yoda being a complete and utter badass! I actually felt bad for Anakin that he turned to the Dark Side! And of course, OMGWTF LAVA!!
Don't get me wrong, Lucas has done some stupid things. But this is the SW movie we've been waiting for.
tries to contain fangirlish glee... totally failing
apologizes for the total abuse of whitefont
Monster-in-Law
pisses me off so badly. Way to keep those "catty bitch" female stereotypes going strong, ladies.
I think Fonda's character is totally justified, from the trailers. I doubt she gets to kill the Lo, though.
But this is the SW movie we've been waiting for.
Word. I understand the desire for a matched set of trilogies, but he really should have just made this one. Everything that happened in 1 and 2 could have been summed up in the opening crawl.
(Also, he should have cast Vincent Kartheiser as Anakin. Just 'cause.)
I actually liked Anakin better in this one. OK, maybe not *like*, but understood.
And no, I can't believe I just said that either.
VK as Anakin?
tries to ponder... takes woobie factor to 11... brain explodes
He's not tall enough.
